We will need to get Orwin plenty of touches tonight. He is a difference maker, and is supposedly even better than ever after surgery to correct a toe injury. He has been playing with this injury up to this point, allegedly. I can’t believe this. Because look at some of the following plays. I characterize these as great plays because Orwin gets at least 4 or 5 yards more than a typical running back would get in the same situation. In some cases, he gets even more. See here:
The guy is simply a good football player.
So there you have it. My formula for a 24-17 GT win is the following - block well, execute the offense, get Orwin plenty of touches, and rely on improved defense and hopefully special teams play with new special teams coach. I think we get it done.
Prediction - GT 24, VT 17.
